Miles & Stockbridge Lawyer Elizabeth A. Hafey Appointed by Governor Hogan to Maryland Health Care Commission
Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that Elizabeth A. Hafey, a lawyer in the firm’s Baltimore office, has been appointed to the Maryland Health Care Commission as a commissioner by Governor Lawrence J. Hogan, Jr.
A member of Miles & Stockbridge’s Products Liability & Mass Torts Practice Group and the medical malpractice group within it, Hafey defends doctors, hospitals, and other health care professionals and entities in medical malpractice cases. She also represents manufacturers and other businesses in a variety of commercial, product liability, and premises liability matters. In this work, she handles all aspects of complex litigation, including factual investigation, litigation strategy development, expert and fact witness depositions, mediation, and trial advocacy.
Hafey’s appointment became effective on May 11, 2016. On the first day of the next legislative session, Governor Hogan will submit her name for advice and consent of the Senate.
She previously served as a commissioner on the Board of Liquor License Commissioners for Baltimore City.
